Parrhèsia – Recherches critiques en sante mentale et droit/Parrhèsia – Critical Research in Mental Health and Law is an open access, multidisciplinary, bilingual, peer-reviewed journal published twice per year. Authors publishing in Parrhèsia retain the rights to their texts and may publish their work elsewhere free of charge, subject to a mention of the initial publication in Parrhèsia. While the field of mental health and law is largely monopolized by the mental health and law paradigm to guide practices and develop new knowledge, the objective of Parrhèsia is to promote and make visible, diverse and critical knowledge, from the perspective of people and their allies who have experienced the mental health and law apparatus. Presenting a unique editorial line, Parrhèsia will be the venue to publish innovative and transformative international research in mental health and law, rooted in a vast array of epistemological, disciplinary, theoretical, and methodological traditions.
